Yet
another person have revealed that he provided money for President-elect Rodrigo Roa Duterte'spresidential
campaign. It was tycoon Antonio "Tonyboy"
Floirendo Jr. who contributed P75 million out of his "brotherly love" for Duterte.
Adding
that as his reason for withdrawing from supporting Jejomar Binay so as to
assist Rodrigo Duterte. And stating that Duterte was the man Floirendo saw that
could "make it all happen" for Mindanao and its people.
Since
the family of Duterte lived in Mindanao when he was around 5-years-old, Rodrigo
Roa Duterte will be the first Mindanaon president of the Philippines.
The
chairman of the Anflocor Group of Companies, Floirendo said that he actually
would have fancied his contributions to be incognito. However, he realized that
the law edicts it to be made public for transparency.
Floirendo's
other businesses are: the famous Pearl Farm Beach Resort, Banana Plantation
Tagum Agricultural Development Company, Inc. or TADECO, Banana Processing Firm
Anflo Banana Corp., and Davao International Container Terminal, Inc.
The incoming Davao del Norte 2nd District representative,
Floirendo also included that his donation of money was given "without any strings attached",
saying that all he wants is for the President-elect to "make good of his promises".
"I
would like to express that all of the millions I have donated to Duterte are
without any strings attached, so to speak."
"It is my fervent wish that
President Duterte would make good of his promises for Mindanao and the entire
nation."
"That alone is enough for
me, for us Mindanaoans who gave it all to produce a President we could all be
proud of."
Duterte
has received P375 million in donations, both in cash and in kind, as stated in
his Statement of Contributions and Expenditures (SOCE). And aside from
Floirendo, here are some men who are also patrons of Duterte's presidency:
Senator Alan Peter Cayetano (P70
million in kind for their tandem ads), and other businessmen, Felix Ang (P10
million), Bienvenido Tan (P20 million), and Dennis Uy (P30 million).
Moreover,
there are equally notable people in the list that will be Duterte's incoming
Cabinet, who are also long-time friends of the mayor.
Incoming
Finance Secretary Carlos "Sonny" Dominguez III donated P2 million
while Duterte's personal lawyer and incoming Executive Secretary Salvador
Medialdea gave P500,000.
