President-elect Rodrigo Duterte’s security detail will include the “beauty queen cop” former Miss Philippines-Earth candidate Sofia Loren Deliu.
Deliu and several other
lady police officers met with Duterte last Sunday, May 22.
Half-Filipina and
half-Romanian, Deliu first caught the national spotlight last year after
finishing 15th place in the Miss Philippines-Earth beauty pageant.
The policewoman joined the Philippine National Police in
2014. She was the chief supply officer at the PNP Regional Public Safety
Battalion.
“Kami po ‘yung unit na…
nagco-combat operations. Kami po ‘yung supporting unit. And under din po sa
amin ‘yung SWAT (Special Weapons and Tactics), EOD (Explosive Ordnance
Disposal), ‘yung sa mga bombings. Anything that has to do with rescue, kami
pong unit ‘yun,” explained Deliu.
(Our unit is involved in
combat operations. We are the supporting unit. Under our unit are the SWAT,
EOD. Anything that has to do with rescue, that’s us.)
Deliu has been modeling
since she was 14.
